SacramentoRevealed.com – All Things Sacramento (from a personal perspective)
I always look forward to Sac Open Studios as it spotlights local artists you might otherwise not be familiar with. You can stop at participating galleries and other locations showing multiple artists, or stop by individual artist studios from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day.
The self-guided tour is free – and you determine your schedule and the venues you want to visit during the designated open studio timeframe.

The Sac Open Studios guidebook is a must have resource as it lists the studios open each weekend, and the artists who are showing their works at various locations. I picked up my copy at one of the local grocery stores. It you look around you will spot them at numerous venues.
Preview Exhibition
This past weekend I headed down to Verge Center for the Arts to view the preview exhibition which features over 100 artworks by Sac Open Studios artists installed salon-style. I also stopped by the University Art (2601 J Street) window display curated by the manager of University Art.
At Verge Center for the Arts I immediately recognized the works of two local artists – Gale Hart and Marsha Schindler. I have blogged about both previously, and their art/style is distinctive. I only had to check the tag to confirm my identification of the artist!
