(UPDATED 11/24/18) Description and review of the Century DOCO & XD Theatre, and parking in the nearby DOCO West Parking Garage on L Street.
Have you been to the Century DOCO & XD Theatre in Sacramento Downtown Commons (DOCO)?
Construction is still taking place around the theatre, but it is now open for business. I recently visited the theatre complex for the first time to catch The 15:17 to Paris.

I was meeting friends at the theatre for the first showing of the day on a Wednesday. The Early Bird price for the matinee was $8. We had not purchased tickets in advance since it was not only the first showing of the day but also a weekday.

I had been a bit concerned about parking – but it was a breeze. We both parked in the DOCO West Parking Garage located at 325 L Street. The parking garage entrance is on the right hand side of L Street just past the Macy’s parking garage and 4th Street.
Having researched the parking in advance, we parked on the 4th Floor of the parking garage, and simply walked along the open air elevated pathway leading to the theatre. The pathway is located right next to the 4th Floor elevators.
Once we entered the theatre we validated our parking tickets at the same time we purchased our tickets for the performance. The parking validation at Century DOCO & XD is valid for four hours – so we planned to have lunch after the movie at a nearby restaurant.
I also noted when checking out the Century DOCO & XD website that on Golden 1 event nights there is complimentary valet parking on Level 1 for those who are planning to catch a movie! You just need to show your movie validation.
After we bought our tickets we headed to the snack bar. My friends ordered soft drinks and popcorn while I ordered a soft drink. Like the Century Arden 14 & XD, the theatre has a bar and offers wine and beer.

There were only a few other people in the theatre. We settled into our seats and made ourselves comfortable as we waited for the movie to begin. The theatre has been completely remodeled, and includes the new standard in seating – electric-powered reclining luxury loungers.
I did notice a distinct difference between the seats at Century Arden 14 & XD and Century DOCO & XD. The seats at Century DOCO & XD were roomy – but not as wide as at the Century Arden 14 & XD. I personally found the seats and leg rests at Century DOCO & XD to be much more comfortable.
After the movie we returned to the DOCO West Parking Garage via the elevated open-air pathway and from there took the 4th Floor elevator to the ground level. We passed under the Indo Arch and the freeway underpass as we made the short walk to Old Sacramento for a late lunch.

All in all it was a very positive experience, and I look forward to patronizing the Century DOCO & XD Theatre again in the near future.
