2020 Restaurant Review Recap – A compilation of SacramentoRevealed.com restaurant reviews posted in 2020.
2020, which will long be remembered as the year of the COVID-19 pandemic, has finally come to an end! With the positive news of multiple vaccines on the horizon we can all start looking forward to 2021.
SacramentoRevealed.com – All Things Sacramento (from a personal perspective)
The year started out on a high note. My daughter spent my January birthday week with me. We did up the town and had a fantastic time. We dined out multiple times, attended two plays, caught a movie, and spent quality time hanging out together. The week finished up with a walking and food-tasting tour of Midtown Sacramento. It all seems so long ago now.
Pre-COVID 19
After my daughter left at the end of her vacation things slowed down a bit – as far as eating out.
COVID-19 Lockdown
The rapid spread of COVID-19 led to Governor Newsom ordering a state lockdown in March. During the months of March and April I hunkered down at home. A weekly visit to the grocery store became my new routine, followed by washing my hands and wiping down surfaces with disinfectant wipes. Like everyone else, I cooked up a storm even though I was only cooking for myself.
Lucky for me I have my dog Mickey for company, and his multiple daily walks get me out of the house. Keeping in touch with friends and family by phone, taking classes, attending virtual events via Zoom and blogging has kept me occupied during the year.
COVID-19 Take-out
Required COVID-19 restrictions implemented to try to keep the virus at bay severely impact Sacramento restaurants, restaurant employees, and other small businesses. In May, I decided I had to do my part to help and I began to do take-out. Several times I was joined by friends and we enjoyed dining outside in my backyard while observing all safety protocols.

I very much look forward to a time when I can enjoy dining both indoors and outdoors with friends at Sacramento restaurants again. Take-out is ok, but it is definitely not the same.
At some point (perhaps mid-to-late 2021?) I hope to, for example, revisit Casa Tulum and dine on their back patio.
