(UPDATED 3/11/2022) Description and review of dinner at Ink Eats & Drinks, located in Midtown Sacramento. NEW: See UPDATE below.
Prior to a 9:00 p.m. show at the B Street Theatre at the Sofia, a friend and I stopped by Ink Eats & Drinks for dinner. We secured street parking near the theatre and walked to the restaurant which is nearby.
It was a beautiful, mild end-of-summer evening in Sacramento. We spotted an open table on the small outdoor patio as we entered the restaurant – so we requested outdoor seating. The hostess immediately showed us to our table.

Food/Service Review
Two servers seemed to be working the patio as well as their duties inside – but neither approached us. After a bit I caught one and made an inquiry. Apologies were made and our server appeared with water and took our drink order.
When he returned with our wine, a glass of chardonnay ($6) and a glass of rose ($7) we were ready to order – mindful that we had a play to go to.
My friend ordered the Ink Chicken Salad (romaine, avocado, bacon, tomato, carrots, house-made cornbread croutons, bleu cheese crumbles & dressing) ($13). Salmon always sound good to me so I ordered the Salmon Caesar Salad (romaine, parmesan, garlic croutons) ($12).
As we ordered we explained that we had a show to go to, and we were reassured that it would not be a long wait – especially as we had ordered salads.

After an extended period of time we were starting to worry – so we flagged down a server and made an inquiry. Again, apologies were made. When our salads were finally served we asked for the bill reasoning that doing so would speed up the process as they were obviously very busy.
We both enjoyed our salads and the balmy evening as we dined Al fresco. My friend remarked in particular on the generous amount of cubed chicken, bacon and bleu cheese in her salad.
As we had the bill in hand, and cash to cover the bill, we were not further delayed after finishing our meal and made it to the play with time to spare. So, no harm done – but the service was disappointing.
