(Last UPDATED 5/18/2020) Description and review of Juno’s Kitchen and Delicatessen, located in East Sacramento on J Street near 36th Street.
My daughter and I recently stopped by Juno’s Kitchen and Delicatessen for a late lunch. Juno’s opens at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday – Saturday and serves lunch until 3:00 p.m.
Juno’s signage leaves something to be desired. If you don’t know the address you could easily miss this small eatery as you drive by. Juno’s is a small establishment with only a few tables inside, but there is some seating on the sidewalk outside as well. The outside dining area is dog-friendly, featuring a water bowl for dogs underneath the tree.
Friends had taken me to the Ravenous Café in the Pocket area of Sacramento prior to Owner/Chef Mark Helms selling that business and opening Juno’s in East Sacramento. We had a wonderful dinner at Ravenous which my friends described as one of their favorite restaurants. As a result, I was expecting good things and I was not disappointed.

Even before we placed our order at the counter, the Banh Mi ($10.95) and Grilled Chicken ($10.95) sandwiches with the side salad, we were asked if the order was take-out or eat-in. Juno’s appears to do a brisk take-out business – perhaps because of the limited seating.
My daughter and I took the last two seats inside Juno’s at the “communal table” (which can comfortably seat four). Our meals were served in short order.
Both of us commented on how much we were enjoying the rolls on which the sandwiches were served, and I later discovered that Chef Helms bakes his own bread/rolls from scratch each day.

We were halfway through lunch when we looked at each other and acknowledged that neither of us could finish the second half of our sandwiches.
My daughter really enjoyed the Banh Mi, and the Grilled Chicken (crispy prosciutto, little romaine & basil aioli) was a real taste treat – so we happily took the second half home for dinner. That evening I made a salad and dinner was served!
I will definitely be returning to Juno’s which is now on my “favorites” list. Next up – I hear good things about the burger.
