Description and review of Tasty Dumpling, a Chinese restaurant located in The Boulevard Shopping Center at Fair Oaks Blvd. and Howe Avenue.
A friend and I recently had lunch at Tasty Dumpling, a fast-casual restaurant that opened in late January 2025. Mark Chou, the owner, opened his first Tasty Dumpling restaurant in Crocker Village in 2020.

The Boulevard Shopping Center
This was the first time I visited one of the businesses at The Boulevard Shopping Center. A Petrovich Development Company project, the shopping center/strip mall opened in 2024. The current tenants of the industrial chic development appear to be primarily food focused, and I noticed several outdoor patio dining areas.
Tenants include Sweetgreen, Urban Plates, Cold Stone Creamery and The Melt.
Tasty Dumpling

It was a Saturday, after the lunch rush, when my friend and I entered Tasty Dumpling. We were greeted and provided plastic covered menus and a black pen and invited to take a seat.
After circling our selections, we returned the menu to the counter and paid for the order. In return we were provided with a number to place on the table. Food items ordered were Shrimp Chow Mein ($15.95), Pork Buns ($5.99) and Pan-Fried Pork Potstickers ($13.95).
Our friendly server shortly thereafter brought us our beverages – a pot of hot tea ($1.50) for my friend and a Thai Iced Tea ($2.95) for me.
Review

It did not take long before we were served the Shrimp Chow Mein, followed shortly thereafter the Pork Buns and Pan-Fried Pork Potstickers. Condiments on the table included a container identified as dumpling sauce, as well as hot chili oil and soy sauce.
The Shrimp Chow Mein was nothing out of ordinary, but it was good. The dish did not skimp on the shrimp. The Pan-Fried Pork Potstickers were very tasty, nice and crispy on the bottom. Both my friend and I agreed that we did not care for the Pork Buns, which could best be described as bland. I took two bites and left the remainder.

Luckily for me, my friend was going out-of-town on business and did not want to take her share of leftovers home. As a result, I enjoyed the leftover potstickers and chow mein for dinner that evening and lunch the next day.
To Sum Up
To sum up, if you want to grab a quick bite and are in the vicinity, Tasty Dumpling is an option to keep in mind.
