Description and review of Tupelo Coffeehouse, a neighborhood coffeehouse located on Elvas Avenue (off of H Street) in East Sacramento.
After dropping off my car at my garage for regular maintenance, I decided to take a walk around the neighborhood while I waited for the work to be completed. It was a weekday morning, and most of the local shops had not yet opened.

A cup of coffee sounded appealing, so I headed to Tupelo Coffeehouse. Tupelo Coffeehouse is part of the local “Naked” coffeehouse chain.
About Tupelo Coffeehouse
I ordered a cup of the house coffee ($3.00) and chose a seat along one of the walls so that I could “people watch”.
The menu offers “usual” and “unusual” traditional and non-traditional coffee and tea beverages. There is also a limited selection of food items available.
The interior of the coffeeshop is full of natural light with assorted seating options. The design is modern, and the vibe is friendly and comfortable.
I found Tupelo Coffeehouse to be quieter than the average coffeehouse. The music playing in the background was just that – background music that did not interfere with the conversation of patrons.
The coffeeshop is a popular neighborhood gathering place – both inside and out. In addition to the spacious interior, the outdoor patio has been expanded and a number of patrons were taking advantage of it to enjoy the pleasant morning.
While I was there, friends were meeting friends and students from nearby Sac State were taking advantage of the WIFi to get some school work done while they enjoyed their beverages. There was also a steady stream of in-and-out patrons ordering take-out.
To sum up, Tupelo Coffeehouse is clearly doing something right as business appears to be very good indeed – despite the nearby Starbucks.
