What is Record Store Day?

The purpose of the annual Record Store Day is to highlight, to existing and potential new customers, the existence and importance of supporting independent local music stores and the services they provide.  The event is celebrated world-wide.

The first Record Store Day took place in April, 2008.  The event features special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products that are made exclusively for the day.  Over the years, the list of special releases has grown to include artists and record labels in every genre and price point.

The Record Store Day website has a list of all of the 2022 Record Day Store releases.

NOTE:  Check with the participating record store or stores you to plan to patronize, in advance, to confirm if a specific recording is available at that location.  Each store chooses what Record Day Store inventory they will carry.
