Description and review of the Shepard Garden & Arts Center Fall Sale, a sale to benefit the Center and the numerous clubs that meet there.
The Shepard Garden & Arts Center (SG&AC), located in the McKinley Park panhandle, is a very busy place. As a general rule, there is something going on virtually every day of the month. You can scroll through the on-line SG&AC calendar to learn what events of interest to you are coming up.
SacramentoRevealed.com – All Things Sacramento (from a personal perspective)
The Shepard Garden & Arts Center Fall Sale is one of the annual events that I enjoy attending. The two-day event is held each October. This year I made my way to the SG&AC on a crisp Sunday morning, the second and last day of the sale. Similar to the annual Spring Sale, vendors are members of all the clubs that utilize the SG&AC year-round.

The event was held both indoors and outdoors on the patio. Plants for sale were grouped by club i.e. bonsai, begonia, bromeliads and carnivorous, cactus and succulents, etc.
After making a first pass to check each table out, I returned to a display of handmade jewelry that had caught my eye. I don’t wear much in the way of jewelry, but I was in the market for a new pair of earrings. I chatted with the artist who had crafted the earrings and other jewelry on display and chose a pair to purchase. The earrings were $8 and a real bargain!
I also returned to admire the large display of flower arrangements crafted by members of the Floral Design Guild, but in the end did not purchase an arrangement. I was sorely tempted, however!
To Sum Up
To sum up, the Shepard Garden & Arts Center Fall Sale is a great place to pick up a bargain. The plants, in particular, were very reasonably priced.
