Month by month description of some of the fresh produce you are likely to find at Sacramento’s local farmers markets.
As Californians we are blessed to live in a state that produces an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables. As Sacramentans, we are equally blessed to live in a farming region that is home to many small farms.
Visiting one or more farmers’ markets on a regular basis is a ritual for many Sacramentans – myself included. Many of the small farmers pick their produce the very same day you purchase it! You can’t get fresher than that – unless of course you have a garden in your own back yard.
