Liveability.com Top 100 List:
While some of the above listed cities made the 2019 Livability.com Top 100 Best Places to Live in America list, Sacramento is not among them. Why?
The answer is affordability. To develop the 2019 list Liveability.com surveyed 1,000 millennials across the U.S. asking “What matters most to you when you’re deciding where to live?” The #1 response – affordability.
As a result of the survey, Liveability.com instituted for the first time a cap on median home value – in this case $250,000. Other criteria changes were made such as increasing the population maximum, etc., but this one criteria knocks Sacramento out of the competition.
Only three California cities made the 2019 Top 100 Best Places to Live in America list:
- San Bernardino (#44)
- Lancaster (#62)
- Victorville (#95)
If Liveability.com retains this median home value cap criteria, Sacramento will certainly never appear on the Top 100 Best Places to Live in America list in the future. What a shame!
